This uplifting choral celebration features Broadway sensation Aurelia Williams, the Morgan State University Choir directed by Eric Conway, and the JMU Madison Singers and Chorale, with original music composed by Randy Klein and based on the poetry of Margaret Walker, Michael Harper and Yusef Komunyakaa. Aurelia Williams has performed in many Broadway shows both regionally and in New York City, including: Dreamgirls; Ain’t Misbehavin’; Smokey Joe’s Café; All Shook Up; Menopause the Musical; Caroline, or Change; and Nunsense. An award-winning pianist, computer and record producer, Randy Klein is the president of Jazzheads, an independent record label featuring improvised jazz.

Daniel Ihasz bio

On October 8-10, 2014, Prof. Daniel Ihasz, baritone, was in residence in the Voice Area at the JMU School of Music.

Prof. Ihasz is a wonderful singer and pedagogue, and is one of the foremost exponents of VoceVista spectral analysis software.

He lectured on Wednesday, Oct 8, did a recital/public master class on Thursday evening Oct 9, and another master class in the afternoon Friday October 10. During his stay, he also taught private lessons.
